Sunset Horseback Riding on Oʻahu’s North Shore
Ride real working polo ponies along our private oceanfront trail during the golden hour, when the light turns the Waiʻanae mountains pink and the Pacific glows. Your guide stops at our photo spot for complimentary photos — sunset silhouettes on horseback are the shot everyone comes for. Sea turtles feed on the rocks along the trail most evenings.
What To Expect

Sunset Group Tour — $188 per rider
Our classic oceanfront ride at the day’s most beautiful hour, with up to 8 riders. Perfect for first-timers and experienced riders alike — no experience required, ages 8 and up.
Sunset Private Tour — $208 per rider
Just your party and your guide — the choice for proposals, anniversaries, and photoshoots. Minimum group size is 2 in the off-season and 4 during peak travel dates.
Book Early
Sunset is our most-requested tour — group sunset tours sell out 2 weeks ahead, and private sunset tours book out three weeks or more. If your date shows unavailable, please check the Sunshine Private Ride or another evening.
Peak Travel Dates:
Spring Break: March 11 – April 7
Summer: June 10 – September 30
Thanksgiving Break: November 22 – 29
Winter Break: December 15 – January 20
Please Note: Minimum group size is 2 in the off-season and 4 during peak travel dates.

- Check-in is 45 minutes before the tour starts.
- Please arrive promptly before your activity’s start time to check in. Safety Demo will start 15 minutes prior to the ride! Tardiness may result in a shortened tour.

- Must be 8+
- Weight cannot exceed 230lbs. If your weight is in question, we do reserve the right to weigh you on a scale and cancel your trail ride without a refund.
- Please don’t bring any backpacks or purses for the ride, we have saddlebags for small, personal items such as cell phones and cameras!
- Helmets are a requirement for the ride, and are provided!
- Pregnant Wahine and keiki under 8 are not permitted to ride.

- Changes or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the ride to be eligible for a refund.
- For cancellations outside of 48 hours, contact staff by phone (808-220-5153) or email [email protected] to be eligible for a refund.
- Cancellations or changes within 48 hours of the ride are non-refundable. No exceptions.
- No shows are non-refundable.
- Rainouts/cancellations due to weather are at company discretion. We ride rain or shine.

- Do we allow trotting or cantering for experienced riders?
No, the sand is too deep and unsafe for the horses to go faster than a walk. - Can my Keiki under 8 years old still come on the ride?
Our insurance does not cover Keiki under 8 years old! - What time does the sunset tour start? Late afternoon, timed to end near sundown — typically 5:30 PM, adjusted seasonally. Your confirmation shows the exact time.
- Do we watch the sunset from the beach? You ride the oceanfront trail through golden hour with the sun setting over the Pacific — the back half of the ride is sunset light.
- What if it’s cloudy? North Shore sunsets perform in most weather; rides only cancel for unsafe conditions, in which case we rebook or refund.
